Call Away Operation

 

Touch > Call Away (#41) POS Key

 

Description

 

Used by floor staff to notify kitchen staff to start preparing the orders for the Print Group (Entrees/Mains/Desserts/etc) for which a Call Away for a specific table has been activated. For example, a Call Away for entrees is activated by floor staff for a particular table.

 

To Be Considered

 

  1. If required, restricting access to this POS Key can be managed by Clerk Security.
  2. Multiple Call Away POS Keys can be added to a keyboard and each can be preset to a specific Print Group. For example, one to Call Away Entrees and one to Call Away Mains, etc.

Pre-Requisites

 

  1. Ensure the Function Call Away POS Key is added to the appropriate Layout using the Keyboard Designer.

 


Operation

 

  1. A Call Away can be activated from either one of the following:

 

  1. SwiftPOS Touch terminal keyboard display:

    1. Select the Table POS Key.
    2. Select the Table.
    3. Call Away POS Key.
    4. A Kitchen docket will be printed.
    5. The Table status on the Floor Plan will be updated to reflect Print Group called.


  1. Floor Plan Display

 

  1. Select the Floor Play Display POS Key.
  2. Select the Table.
  3. Select the Call button.
  4. Select the Print Group required to be called.
  5. A Kitchen docket will be printed.
  6. The Table status on the Floor Plan will be updated to reflect Print Group called.


Call Away POS Key Settings

  • Print Group - Select from the drop down list.
  • Don't Print Call Away Items - Select to ensure individual items Called Away are not printed on the Kitchen Docket.
