Cancel Sale Operation

 

Touch > Cancel Sale (#5) POS Key

 

Description

 

Used to cancel an entire sale and record the value of the cancelled sale for SwiftPOS Back Office Audit Reporting.

 

To Be Considered

 

  1. If required, restricting access to this POS Key can be managed by Clerk Security.
  2. If required, enforcing Clerks/Staff at the SwiftPOS Touch terminals to provide reasons for the cancellation of the sales can be achieved by ensuring that the Enforce Reason Code settings have been configured. These settings are accessed from here.

 


Pre-Requisites

 

  1. Ensure the Function Cancel Sale POS Key is added to the appropriate Layout using the Keyboard Designer.

 


Operation

 

  1. At the SwiftPOS Touch terminal make a sale.
  2. Select the Cancel Sale POS Key.
  3. A prompt will be displayed to confirm the cancellation of the sale. Select Yes.
  4. The value of the cancelled sale will be recorded as a Cancelled Sale transaction in the SwiftPOS Back Office.
  5. If there are items in the sale that have the Check Available Servings option selected, then the following prompt will be displayed requesting whether the Servings are to be added back given the sale was cancelled.
     

 

Select YES to ensure the cancelled servings are added back to Available Servings tally.

  • Suppress Cancel Sale Message - Select to ensure the Cancel confirmation prompt IS NOT displayed when cancelling a sale. Note : This can be useful when when using Kiosk 1 or 2 style Keyboards for Order Kiosks.
