Cash Drop Operation

 

Touch > Cash Drop (#1100) POS Key

 

Description

 

Used to withdraw cash from a SwiftPOS Touch till for safekeeping. That is, for example, placed in a onsite safe or sent to the bank.

 

To Be Considered

 

  1. If required, restricting access to this POS Key can be managed by Clerk Security.
  2. The Cash Drop POS Key can be Password protected (using the Keyboard Designer), thus requiring Clerks/Staff to call a Duty Manager/Supervisor to perform the Paid Out transaction.
  3. Cash Drawer limits can also be set here, to either trigger a message being displayed or sent to a Pager requesting a Cash Drop.
  4. This features can only be used as a separate transaction and cannot be included as part of a sale.
  5. Cash Drops will be reported in the following reports:

    1. Media Audit report
    2. Media Audit by Location report
    3. Cash Drop Audit report
    4. Z Reports

 


Pre-Requisites

 

  1. Ensure the Function Cash Drop POS Key is added to the appropriate Layout using the Keyboard Designer.

 


Operation

 

  1. To Withdraw (Cash Drop) cash at the till for safekeeping

 

  1. At the SwiftPOS Touch terminal, select the Cash Drop POS Key.
  2. A numeric keypad will be displayed prompting the entry of the dollar value being withdrawn.
  3. Enter the dollar value and select Enter.
  4. The Cash Drawer will open and the amount entered will appear in the sales grid.
     


  1. A receipt will print. This can be attached to the bundle of cash withdrawn.
  2. The Cash Drop transaction is now complete.
  3. Turn on the 'Always print' receipt behind the keyboard more settings if required.

  • Always Print Receipt - Select to enable this feature.
  • Cash Drop By Denomination - Select to ensure the Cash Drop denomination screen is displayed.
     

 

    • Print Denomination Slip - Select to ensure the Cash Drop by Denomination slip is printed.
