Clerk/Staff Tools Operation

 

Description

 

There are a number of Clerk tools in SwiftPOS Touch which allows the addition of new Clerks/Staff, assigning existing Clerks/Staff with a new ID and assigning finger prints to Clerks/Staff for use with finger print scanners.

 

The Clerk Tools menu provides access to the following features:

 

  • Add Clerk - Allows users to create new Clerks/Staff at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal. The new Clerk/Staff Member is immediately created in SwiftPOS Back Office.

Touch > Tools > Select right arrow 5 times > Clerk Tools > Add Clerk


  • Assign new ID - Allows users to change Clerk IDs at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal. The Clerk ID is immediately updated in SwiftPOS Back Office.

Touch > Tools > Select right arrow 5 times > Clerk Tools > Assign new ID


  • Enrol Finger Print - Used to assign Finger Prints to Clerks/Staff at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal when finger print scanners are in use.

Add Clerk Operation

The Add New Clerk feature allows users to create new Clerk/Staff Members at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal. Once all of the details have been entered and the users presses OK the desired Clerk ID is validated by the SwiftPOS Back Office database to ensure that the record can be created. Should the Clerk ID already be in use or is invalid, appropriate feedback will be provided. Once the Clerk record has been successfully created in the SwiftPOS Back Office it will be immediately available for use at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal where the Clerk/Staff Member was created. All other SwiftPOS Touch terminals will need to receive an update from SwiftPOS Connect before the Clerk/Staff Member will be usable there.

 

  • Clerk/RFID - This is the Clerk ID or RF wristband ID that the new Clerk/Staff Member will be assigned to.
  • Pin - This field refers the clerk's pin number used for Clerk security and logging in.
  • Name - The name of the Clerk/Staff Member being created.
  • Phone - The phone number of the Clerk/Staff Member being created.
  • Group - This field refers to the Clerk/Staff Group in which the Clerk/Staff Member will be assigned.

 


Assign new ID Operation

The Change Clerk ID feature allows users to change the ID of an existing Clerk/Staff Member at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal. Once a new Clerk ID and the Clerk/Staff Member that will be assigned the new ID have been entered and the user presses the OK button the Clerk ID will be validated by the SwiftPOS Back Office. If the new ID is already in use or is invalid then appropriate feedback will be provided. Once the ID has been successfully changed the Clerk's ID will be immediately updated at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal where the ID was changed. All other SwiftPOS Touch terminals will require and update from SwiftPOS Connect before the Clerk's ID will change there.

 

  • New Clerk ID - This is the new ID that will be assigned to the selected Clerk/Staff Member.
  • Assign To - This is the Clerk/Staff Member that will have their ID changed.

 


Enrol Finger Print Operation

The Enrol Fingerprints feature is used to assign fingerprints to Clerk/Staff Members when using Fingerprint Readers at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal. Each of the fingers displayed on this screen can be clicked on, followed by the fingerprint reader waiting for you to swipe the corresponding finger. The screenshot above displays the fingerprint enrolling screen which contains instructions on how to successfully enrol fingerprints for a Clerk/Staff Member.

 

  • Assign To - This is the Clerk/Staff Member that will have the finger prints assigned to.
