- Note : SwiftPOS only supports Stocktakes on Windows CE based PDA Devices.
Honeywell-O5100 Settings for correct interpretation of Barcodes
Please check with your hardware supplier but you need to make sure that the Barcodes that you are scanning are returning the complete Barcode including the check digit on the end.
Windows > Programs > Tools > Notepad - use this to scan some Barcodes to ensure that they are returning the complete Barcode.
Windows > Settings > Control Panel > Scanner Configure > Basic Tab
Keyboard Wedge Enable > Keyboard Event
Transmission Code > CRLF
Windows > Settings > Control Panel > Scanner Configure > Symbology's Tab
Enable All or at least ensure that EAN 13, EAN 8, UPC A, UPC E, CODE 128, CODE 39 are enabled.
Windows > Settings > Control Panel > Scanner Configure > Detail Tab
EAN 13, EAN 8, UPC A and UPC E need the Check Digit Enabled
Import/Export Data
The main menu allows you to import and export data from the SwiftPOS PDA database. To sync the database with your current SwiftPOS Back Office database please follow the instructions below:
Exporting From SwiftPOS Back Office to PDA
- Open Count Entry in the SwiftPOS Back Office
- Select Tools --> Export Data to PDA (Windows CE)
- Save the Data to the Desktop. (Permissions restrict saving straight to the device)
- Copy the Barcode and Location files to the SwiftPOSPDA folder on the Device
- From the PDA, select Import Data from the main menu.
The device automatically finds the .TSV files and imports them into the PDA database.
Exporting From PDA to SwiftPOS Back Office (All Locations)
- From the PDA, select Export Data
- Delete the previous Stocktakes in order to reduce confusion for future Stocktakes
- In the SwiftPOS Back Office, add all Location Groups (Venues) to be counted for stocktake
- Select Tools -> Import Stock Count from File (All Locations) if all Location Groups (Venues) are added for stocktake
- Select the .csv from the device (:Device\SwiftPOSPDA) with the correct files name for when the stocktake was taken. (Files Structure: Database_yyyymmdd_hhmmss.csv)
Exporting From PDA to SwiftPOS Back Office (Single Location)
- From the PDA, select Export Data
- Delete the previous Stocktakes in order to reduce confusion for future Stocktakes
- In the SwiftPOS Back Office, Add the Location Group (Venue) to be counted for stocktake
- Select Edit for the Location
- Within the Edit screen, select Tools and Import from file
- Select the .csv from the device (:Device\SwiftPOSPDA) with the correct files name for when the stocktake was taken. (Files Structure: Database_yyyymmdd_hhmmss.csv)
Stock Counts
The Stock Counts menu allows you to perform a full inventory stocktake just like you would with an ordinary PDE. Please follow the instructions listed below when performing a stocktake in SwiftPOS PDA:
- style="margin-bottom: 4.0pt; background: white"> Open the Stock Count menu from the main section of SwiftPOS PDA.
- style="margin-bottom: 4.0pt; background: white"> Enter a Reference ID which will be used to identify the Stocktake in SwiftPOS.
- style="margin-bottom: 4.0pt; background: white"> Select a Location from the drop down combo box by clicking on the desired record.
- style="margin-bottom: 4.0pt; background: white"> You can now scan a Barcode or enter one manually. If the Barcode has been entered manually, select the Enter key and it will attempt to match it to a Product in your database.
- style="margin-bottom: 4.0pt; background: white"> The cursor should now be in the Quantity field, waiting for a quantity to be entered. Once you have entered the correct quantity select the Add button.
- style="margin-bottom: 4.0pt; background: white"> Repeat the last 2 steps for all of your Products then review the list of scanned items in the bottom section of the screen. You can click a record at any time if you wish to change the quantity that has been counted.
