RIP Global Operation

Description

Used to interface with the RIP Global App (RIPGlobal https://www.ripaglobal.com/). An App that provides a seamless, touch free, paperless solution that fully automates expensing, end to end.

To Be Considered

  1. Note : Their is currently a KNOWN ISSUE when processing a sale and a Customer's mobile phone number is entered. RIP Global are aware of the issue and are in the process of fixing it.
  2. The SwiftPOS / RIP Global interface will repeatedly attempt to post the Receipt/Tax Invoice details of sales until they are successfully posted. That means that when a specific sale does not post, all subsequent sales at the same SwiftPOS Touch Terminal will be queued (and NOT posted) until such time the issue with the non-posting sale is resolved. Sales in error will be logged and can be retrieved via the Event Logs > SwiftPOS Applications > SwiftPOS Touch Terminal. Note : Any sales in error relating to the RIP Global interface will need to be brought to the attention of SwiftPOS Support.
  3. Note : Only items (Products) in a sale are posted to RIP Global. This means that values relating to Charges/Redemptions or Payments/Top-ups of either Accounts, Gift Cards, etc will NOT be posted to RIP Global.

Pre-Requisites

  1. Ensure a String PLU Product has been configured, so that it can be included in a sale at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal. This will ensure the sale is considered candidate for posting to RIP Global. Note : Any sale that does not include this PLU will not be exported to RIP Global.
  2. Ensure RIP Global provided credentials are entered a Sales Export > RIP Global Type Interface has been configured at all relevant SwiftPOS Touch Terminals.
  3. The string PLU configured in step 1 above, will need to be entered in the Interface settings along with the credentials (provided by RIP Global) in the RIP PLU field.
  4. To scan the Customer's RIP Global QR Code (from their RIP GLobal App), ensure a Barcode scanner is configured, then ensure that Card Masks (as per below) have been configured at each of the SwiftPOS Touch Terminals that have Barcode scanners in use.

The Mask value for the QR Code scan is:

(RIPId=)####################################################################################################XXXXXX

The Mask value for entering the Customer's mobile phone number is:

(+64)XXXXXXXX

  1. To allow for the entry of the Customer's Mobile phone number, ensure a Card Mask Entry (#901) POS Key is added to the appropriate Layout using the Keyboard Designer.
  2. Ensure a Full Update is sent to all relevant SwiftPOS Touch Terminals.
  3. Customers wanting to have their RIP Global Account's QR Code scanned will need to ensure that they have the RIP Global App installed on their mobile phones.
