Receipt Playback Operation

Touch > Tools > Basic Tools > Terminal Settings > Peripheral List > Receipt Printer > Edit

Description

This feature provides the ability to print a Barcode on a Receipt, which then can be subsequently scanned at a SwiftPOS Touch terminal and the original sale will be loaded into the sales grid. This can be used to resell the same items again or refund a specific sale.

To Be Considered

  1. Note : When a Member is added to a sale and the Receipt is printed with the RECEIPTPLAYBACK barcode, when this same Receipt is scanned at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal, only the items will be added to the sale and not the Member.

  1. To resell items from a previous sale

  1. At the SwiftPOS Touch terminal, scan the ReceiptPlayback Barcode on a Receipt from a previous sale.

  • If the message above is displayed, then this may mean that the Receipt being scanned cannot be found in the Back Office. This maybe as a result of one of the following:

    • The sale may have not yet been processed in the Back Office. Wait a while and try again. It may just be a timing issue.
    • The sale may not exist in the Back Office anymore, as a result of a Clear Transaction History or a Data Roll-up operation having been carried out recently in the Back Office.

  1. The following prompt will be displayed.

  • Current Prices - Select to ensure that when the items from the scanned Receipt are added to the sales grid, they will be added using the currently active price, and NOT the price the items were orginally sold at.
  • Original Prices - Select to ensure that when the items from the scanned Receipt are added to the sales grid, they will be added using the pricing they were originally sold at.

  1. The items on the original Receipt will be added to the sales grid. Note : Members in the original sale will not be added to the sales grid.
  2. Finalise the sale.

  1. To refund a previous sale
    1. At the SwiftPOS Touch terminal, select the Refund Mode POS Key. The background of the sales grid will be displayed in red.
    2. Scan the ReceiptPlayback Barcode on a Receipt from a previous sale.
    3. The prompt as per above will be displayed. Select Original Prices.
    4. The items on the original Receipt will be added to the sales grid with amounts depicting refund values.
    5. Finalise the refund.
