Description

 

This menu item used to message staff. A message can be sent to either a Clerk/Staff Member, Clerk/Staff Group, SwiftPOS Touch terminal or specific Locations.

 


Messages

 

 

This screen is accessed from here and enables the sending/viewing of received Messages from/to staff in the organisation.

 

Search Filters

 

 

  • The filters at the top of the screen can be used to limit the number of rows displayed in the grid. The filters include the following types:

 

 

 

Grid

 

The grid displays the: From, Subject, Date and @. Note : Rows displayed in the grid can be sorted by toggle selecting the column headings.

 

Footer

 

  • New - Select to add a new Message.
  • Open - Select to open the Message.
  • Mark - Select to mark the selected Message as either read/unread.
  • Reply - Select to create a reply Message.
  • Reply All - Select to create a reply Message to all the recipients of the selected Message.
  • Forward - Select to forward the selected Message.
  • Delete/Hide - Select to either delete the selected Message or move the selected Message to the Message Type - Hidden Items folder.
  • Tools - Select to open the Settings screen to set the Server, TCP Port and Debug settings. The TCP port must be run on a separate port to the SwiftPOS Touch terminal port otherwise Messages will not function.

 


New Message

 

 

  • To - Enter the recipient. This can be either a Clerk/Staff Member, Clerk/Staff Group, SwiftPOS Touch terminal or Location.
  • Single Read - Select to ensure that once the Message is read, it will not appear as unread the next time it is viewed by the next Clerk/Staff Member who logs on. Particularly useful for Messages sent to SwiftPOS Touch terminals or Locations.
  • Subject - Enter the subject of the Message.
  • Attachment - Select to attach a file to the Message.
  • Schedule - Select to enable the specification of a from/to date range ensuring the Message is sent each day within the date range specified.
