Auto Step Seat Operation

 

Touch > Tools > Basic Tools > Terminal Settings > Table Tracking > Auto Step Seat option, Course (#585), Next Seat (#586) and Previous Seat (#587) POS Keys.

 

Description

 

Used to automatically allocate Seat Numbers to items sold at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal. This feature is primarily designed for fine dining Restaurants to enable the quick allocation of Seats.

 

Seat Numbers already assigned to items in a sale can be changed using the Seat Number POS Key with the Display Seat and Change Seat on Click options selected.

 

 

To Be Considered

 

  1. If required, restricting access to this POS Key can be managed by Clerk Security.

 


Pre-Requisites

 

  1. Ensure the Prompt for Covers Only and Auto Step Seats options is selected.
  2. Ensure the Function Course, Next Seat and Previous Seat POS Keys are added to the appropriate Layout using the Keyboard Designer.Also, if required add the Seat Number POS Key with the Display Seat and/or the Change Seat on Click options selected.

 


Operation

 

  1. Auto allocate Seat Numbers when taking Table Orders.

 

  1. Enter a table number and select the Table# POS Key.
  2. At the Adult Covers prompt, select 3 (for 3 adult covers) and select Enter. The Table number will appear in the sales grid.
  3. Select the 1st item ordered for the 1st Course. The item selected will appear in the sales grid suffixed with a Seat # of 1 and the Displayed Seat Number POS Key will display 2.
  4. Select the 2nd item ordered for the 1st Course. The item selected will appear in the sales grid suffixed with a Seat # of 2 and the Displayed Seat Number POS Key will display 3.
  5. Select the 3rd item ordered for the 1st Course. The item selected will appear in the sales grid suffixed with a Seat # of 3 and the Displayed Seat Number POS Key will remain unchanged at 3 (as it has reached the Covers of 3 entered above).
  6. Select the Course POS Key. A ------COURSE------ line will appear in the sales grid and the Displayed Seat Number POS Key will display 1.
  7. Select the 1st item ordered for the 2nd Course. The item selected will appear in the sales grid suffixed with a Seat # of 1 and the Displayed Seat Number POS Key will display 2.
  8. Select the Next Seat POS Key. The Displayed Seat Number POS Key will display 3. Note : This is being done as the Customer in Seat # 2 is NOT ordering the 2nd Course.
  9. Select the 2nd item ordered for the 2nd Course. The item selected will appear in the sales grid suffixed with a Seat # of 3 and the Displayed Seat Number POS Key will remain unchanged at 3 (as it has reached the Covers of 3 entered above).
  10. Select the Course POS Key. A ------COURSE------ line will appear in the sales grid and the Displayed Seat Number POS Key will display 1.
  11. Select the Next Seat POS Key. The Displayed Seat Number POS Key will display 2. Note : This is being done as the Customer in Seat # 1 is NOT ordering the 3rd Course.
  12. Select the 1st item ordered for the 3rd Course. The item selected will appear in the sales grid suffixed with a Seat # of 2 and the Displayed Seat Number POS Key will display 3.
  13. The Customer in Seat # 1 now changes their mind and wants to order a 3rd Course item.
  14. Select the Previous Seat POS Key twice. The Displayed Seat Number POS Key will display 1.
  15. Select the 2nd item ordered for the 3rd Course. The item selected will appear in the sales grid suffixed with a Seat # of 1 and the Displayed Seat Number POS Key will display 2.
  16. Select the Next Seat POS Key.  The Displayed Seat Number POS Key will display 3.
  17. Select the 3rd item ordered for the 3rd Course. The item selected will appear in the sales grid suffixed with a Seat # of 3 and the Displayed Seat Number POS Key will remain unchanged at 3 (as it has reached the Covers of 3 entered above).
  18. Select the Table# POS Key to save the current order to the selected Table.
