Barrel Draw Promotions

Back Office > Vouchers/Discounts > Barrel Promotions

Description

This menu item is used to setup and manage Barrel Draw Promotions aimed only at Customer/Members. Customer/Members can earn Barrel Draw Tickets depending on their money spend or the quantity of Products purchased in a selected Family. Once earned, the Customer/Member will be issued with Barrel Draw tickets, the next time they swipe their card at the Reception terminal.

Members can be rewarded for purchases during the month but instead of printing all the tickets automatically into a barrel, you can choose to only print on the day of the draw for that raffle so that it is more likely that the Member will be there to collect the prize.

Below is an example of a typical Barrel Draw Promotion process:

  1. The Customer/Member buys $10 worth of desserts at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal.
  2. the SwiftPOS Touch terminal notifies that the Customer/Member has qualified for a Barrel Draw Ticket. Note : To print the Barrel Draw Tickets, the Customer/Member must swipe at the Reception Terminal within the Redeemable period.
Barrel Draw Tickets print from the Reception Barrel Promotion Printer and the draw is done manually.
  3. A Barrel Promotions report can be printed via the SwiftPOS Back Office > Reports > Members tab. This Report is based on the End Date of the Barrel Promotion.

To Be Considered

  1. Note : DO NOT REUSE EXPIRED BARREL PROMOTIONS. Once a Barrel Draw Promotion has expired, that is, the Earn Barrel Draw Promotion Tickets Start/End Dates/Times have expired. It should not be reused, That is, by changing the Earn Barrel Draw Promotion Tickets Start/End Dates/Times. Instead a new Barrel Draw Promotion should be created.
  2. NetPOS.Net creates Electronic Barrel Draw Tickets each time a purchase has been made from SwiftPOS Touch terminal and assigns these to the Customer/Member in the sale.
  3. The Reception Terminal screen automatically prints the Tickets when the Customer/Member swipes their card within the Redeemable period. See bottom of the page for manual importing from a CSV file.
  4. NETPOS needs to be running and processing "BJL" files. If a Customer/Member has been added to a sale and NetPOS.Net goes offline, before or when the sale is finalised, A Barrel Draw Ticket will still be issued to the Customer/Member, even if SwiftPOS Touch terminal does not notify that the Customer/Member has qualified for a Barrel Draw Ticket. The Barrel Draw Ticket will be inserted into the system once the sale is processed by SwiftPOS Back Office.
  5. A Full Update will need to be sent to the Reception/Door Terminal to ensure the printing of Barrel Draw Tickets.
  6. Old Barrel Draw Promotions and related Tickets can now be cleaned up using the Clear Transaction History feature. Select the Barrel Draw Tickets option and specify the number of months to keep. Once run, all BD Promotions, that have expired prior to the number of months specified, and all their related tickets will be removed.
