Touch > Description Change (#506) POS Key

Description

Used to change the Description, Short Description (POS Display), Button caption and Normal Sell Price of a Product associated with a Product assigned POS Key. Originally designed for Chefs to be able to change Product Descriptions for Specials of the Day Products at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal. The updated data is sent to the SwiftPOS Back Office and updates the Product and Keyboard layout.

To Be Considered

1. If required, restricting access to this POS Key can be managed by Clerk Security.
2. A Family Filter has been added to this key in SwiftPOS V10 onwards.

Pre-Requisites

1. Ensure the Function Description Change POS Key is added to the appropriate Layout using the Keyboard Designer.

Operation

1. Select the Description Change POS Key.
2. Select the Product POS Key of the Product requiring change and change as required in the Product Description Change screen displayed.

• Family - Select from the drop down list a Family of Products to which the Change Description operation is restricted.
