Inventory/Stock Transfer Operation

 

Touch > Function Transfer In (#527) and Transfer Out (#526) POS Keys

 

Description

 

This feature is used to record Inventory/Stock Transfers in/out of Locations at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal.

 

To Be Considered

 

  1. If required, restricting access to these POS Keys can be managed by Clerk Security.

 

Pre-Requisites

 

  1. Ensure the Function Transfer In and Transfer Out POS Keys are added to the appropriate Layout using the Keyboard Designer.
  2. Ensure a PLU is created for each of the Locations for which Stock Transfers are to be recorded. Note : This is only required if the Select Location at Touch POS Key option is selected

This can be done by creating a Product/PLU in the SwiftPOS Back Office and giving each of the PLUs created, a description that is equivalent to their Location. Also, for each Location PLU created, make sure the Active option is selected for the appropriate Locations in the Product Full Edit screen and the Location PLU is set against the Location.

 

Operation

 

  1. How to Transfer Stock In


    1. At the SwiftPOS Touch terminal, enter the quantity and the Product being transferred in.
    2. Select the Transfer In POS Key. This will open the Locations search screen.
    3. Select the Location from which the Stock is being transferred.
    4. A confirmation prompt will be displayed, requesting the confirmation of the Transfer. Select Yes.
    5. A Stock Transfer Docket will print on the Receipt printer. For a sample, click here.


  1. How to Transfer Stock Out


    1. At the SwiftPOS Touch terminal, enter the quantity and the Product being transferred in.
    2. Select the Transfer Out POS Key. This will open the Locations search screen.
    3. Select the Location to which the Stock is being transferred.
    4. A confirmation prompt will be displayed, requesting the confirmation of the Transfer. Select Yes.
    5. A Stock Transfer Docket will print on the Receipt printer. For a sample, click here.

Stock Transfer In/Out POS Key Settings

  • Transfer From/To - Select from the drop down list, either Select Location at Touch or select a Location (to ensure the same Location is always used for Transfers at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal). Note : If the Select Location at Touch option is selected then a PLU will need to be created for each Location. See the Pre-Requisites above.
  • Include Costs - Select to ensure Product costs are transferred as well.
  • Print Docket - Select to ensure a Transfer Docket is printed, even when the Receipt printer is turned off here.
     
    • Show Signature Line - Select to ensure a Signature Line is printed on the Transfer Docket.
    • Show Costs - Select to ensure Costs are printed on the Transfer Docket.
       

Note : If you prefer to use fixed buttons for transfers they you will need to create multiple buttons for where you want to transfers to be done. Using this method would also allow you to limit the ability of doing transfers between multiple venues when it is not allowed.
