Issue a Free Coffee Voucher and reduce member's points by 500 points

The following is an example of the use of a Voucher issued to Customer/Members to prevent the accumulation of a large points liability to the Business/Venue.

The Scenario

A Customer/Member is issued with a Free Coffee Voucher valid for 28 days. Once issued the member's points are reduced by 500.

The Setup Required

  1. Ensure a Barcode scanner has been setup at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal to enable the scanning of the Barcode on redemption of the Gift Voucher.
  2. Create a PLU for the issuing of a 'Member Points Gift Voucher' for points.

  1. Create a keyboard key at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal(s) for the issuing of the PLU created above (i.e. the Member Points Gift Voucher) or enter the PLU number at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal and press OK.
  2. Create a Voucher Layout for the Gift Voucher that the customer is required to present at the checkout.

Note : The 'Member : {CUSTOMER NAME}' item added is conditional. That is, it will only print when there is a customer associated with the sale.

  1. Create a Voucher Action to be taken at the time the Voucher is redeemed.

  1. Create Voucher Parameters to control the issuing and redemption of the Gift Voucher.

Note : It is important that the Issue Type is set to Print, otherwise the member's points will not be reduced by the amount entered in the Member Points field above. Also, the Customer/Member has 28 days to redeem the Voucher before it expires.

  1. Assign the action created above.
