The following is a setup example of a Mix n Match - Volume Discount rule using a Price Level shift for a 1 month promotional offer.
The Scenario
When customers buy 6 bottles of wine in the Wine Promo Family they will receive a $1 discount on each bottle.
Pre-Requisites
- If required a Family of Products may need to be created specifically for this promotion.
The Setup Required
- In SwiftPOS Back Office set up a Price Level to reduce the selling price by $1 as follows:
- Click the Update Expression button for the Price Level being set up.
- Click Next
- In SwiftPOS Back Office run a Price Change Wizard to update the selling (normal) price by multiplying it by 1 to force the new price level set above to be calculated. Restrict the Price Change to the Family of Products that contains the Products applicable to this promotion.
- Create a Mix And Match Volume Discount rule as follows:
Notes
- For this offer to apply to all members only check the Member Only option under Rule Options.
- To restrict the offer to buying 6 of the same bottle of wine, check the Same Item Only option. This means the discount will only be applied when six of the same Product are purchased.
- The 'Additional items follow rule' under Volume Discount Properties will when :
- Checked ensures that the discount is applied to each further item sold in excess of the X Qty specified under Rule Properties.
- Unchecked ensures the discount will only apply, every time the number of items sold is equivalent to any multiple of the X Qty. That is in this case the discount will only be applied whenever 6 or12 or 18 or 24 ... number of items are sold.
