SMS Marketing Campaign Members of 50% OFF special

 

The following is an example of the use of a Member Marketing, a Mix n Match - Buy X and Get Multiple Offer and a Voucher to offer Customer/Members targeted in a Marketing Campaign a 50% discount offer.

 

The Scenario

 

SMS all Customer/Members that have purchased bourbon in the current financial year notifying them that the next time they purchase a bottle of bourbon from any store they are entitled to receive 50% OFF the purchase price of a 24 pack of Coke cans. In order for them to receive the offer they are required to present the SMS and their Member Card at the checkout.

 

The Setup Required

 

  1. Ensure that the SwiftPOS Back Office has been configured to enable the sending of SMS messages to Customer/Members. See SwiftPOS Back Office > Administration > Local Configuration > General Tab.
  2. At a minimum ensure the following keyboard key(s) are available at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal(s):

    1. Customer Voucher Lookup POS Key
       
  3. Create a Family (X Family) to include the bourbons to which the promotion applies.
  4. Create a Family (Y Family) to include the coke Products that can be offered at half price.
  5. Create a Mix n Match - Buy X and Get one Y Offer rule.
     

 

Note : The Voucher Only option has been checked. and the Member Only option has been checked to ensure that the discount only applies to Customer/Members. Also, the Maximum Times Claimed in a Sale has been set to 1.

 

  1. Create Voucher Parameters to control the issuing and redemption of the Voucher.
     

 

Note : The Issue Type above is set to disabled, as the Voucher will not be printed but rather issued from the SwiftPOS Back Office via the Member Marketing Campaign. The Default Layout Voucher Design has been selected. In this example the design of the Voucher is irrelevant since the Vouchers will be issued from the marketing campaign and not be printed.

 

  1. Assign the Mix n Match - Buy X and Get one Y Offer rule created above as the Voucher action.
     

 

  1. In SwiftPOS Back Office > Members > Member Documents - Create the SMS to be sent to the targeted Customer/Members.
     

 

  1. In SwiftPOS Back Office > Members > Member Marketing - Click Build Member List to create the list of Customer/Members to be targeted. The Member Quick Reports screen is displayed.
     

 

Then:

  1. Select the Financial Year in the Date Selection.
  2. Select the Member Product Purchases report from the Report Types.
  3. Click the Product Family button.
  4. Select the Family of Products that if purchased by a member in the current financial year will result in the Customer/Member being added to the Customer/Member merge list. In this example the X Family created above is being selected. This could be any other Family all together.
  5. Click the Generate Merge List drop down arrow and select Replace List. The following prompt is displayed:
     

 

  1. Click Yes. The following information message is displayed:
     

 

  1. Click OK.

 

  1. Click Close to exit the Member Quick Reports screen. The Member Marketing screen should now display the members that were added to the list in the previous step. This list can be further edited by using the Tools drop down button.
  2. Issue the Vouchers to the Customer/Members in the Member Marketing list, by doing the following:
     
  1. Click the Issue Voucher drop down and select the Voucher created above.
  2. Click the Issue Voucher button to issue the Vouchers. The Ledger Edit screen is displayed.
     

 

  1. Check the One Per Member check box.
  2. Click OK. The following information message is displayed:
     

 

  1. Click OK.

 

  1. Click Close to exit the Member Marketing screen.
  2. The Vouchers created above can be seen in SwiftPOS Back Office > Voucher/Raffles/Discounts > Voucher Ledger.
  3. Send a full update to the SwiftPOS Terminal(s).

 

Operation

 

  1. At the SwiftPOS Touch terminal swipe the member's card or enter the member's number.
  2. Sell a bottle of bourbon.
  3. Sell a 24 pk of Coke Cans.
  4. Select the Customer Voucher Lookup key and select the Voucher issued earlier.
     

 

  1. The sales grid at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal should look something like this:
     


  1. Finalise the sale.
