Post/Zip Code Setup

Description

SwiftPOS Software comes preloaded with all Australian Post Codes by Region. These are then subsequently used in the following Custom Reports:

Pre-Requisites

  1. Preloaded Post Codes can be found in the SwiftPOS Back Office here.
  2. When designing the Keyboard, select one of the POS Keys that have the Enforce Reason Code setting available. This setting is accessed from here.

Setup

  1. In SwiftPOS Back Office > Products > Product Records, ensure the System PLU ØPOSTCODE (19800), is configured such that the String PLU setting is selected.

  1. In SwiftPOS Back Office > Administration > Global Preferences > Other Tab, ensure the System PLU ØPOSTCODE is selected from the Post Code PLU drop down list.

  1. In SwiftPOS Back Office > Touch Settings > Keyboards, either:

  1. Ensure a Product POS Key linked to the System PLU ØPOSTCODE Product configured above, is created and added to the appropriate Keyboard Layout. To ensure Post Code data is captured with every sale this POS Key will need to be selected with every sale and the Customer's Post Code entered.
  2. A better alternative is to create a Multi Link (Macro) POS Key for the Cash and potentially other Finalise POS Keys (eg. EFTPOS, etc). The following is an example of the linked events required to capture the Post Code when Cashing off a sale:

  1. Send a Full Update to all SwiftPOS Touch terminals.

Operation

  1. At the SwiftPOS Touch terminal, make a sale.
  2. Then to capture the Post Code data, either:

  1. Select the Product POS Key (if this option was chosen to capture the Post Code).
  2. This will open the Post Code entry screen. Enter the Customer's Post Code.
  3. The Post Code entered will appear as part of the sale.
  4. Finalise the sale.

OR

  1. Select the Multi Link (Macro) CASH POS Key (if this option was chosen to capture the Post Code).
  2. This will open the Post Code entry screen. Enter the Customer's Post Code.
  3. The sale will be finalised and the Post Code entered will appear as part of the sale.

  1. The sales will be processed in the SwiftPOS Back Office and can then be reported on via the following reports:
