Description
This menu item is used to design Custom Kiosks in a more free form manner. As opposed to the Interactive Kiosk design, which is inherently grid based and therefore somewhat more limited when it comes to design.
To Be Considered
- Graphics are available from SwiftPOS to assist with correct sizes for this demonstration.
- When designing layouts the size of Images play a role.
- Full Updates are required to be sent to the SwiftPOS Touch Reception terminal, if any changes have been made to the Kiosk or its Items.
- If the Connect Service is running, then Custom Kiosk will automatically connect.
Custom Kiosk
This screen is accessed from here and is used to create and edit Custom Kiosk designs. Select New to create a new Kiosk Design, or select Open to open the Custom Kiosk Search screen and select one to edit.

Menu
- Custom Kiosk - Select from the following:

- Edit - Select from the drop down list one of the Edit functions available.
- Format - Select from the drop down list one of the Format functions available.
- Zoom - Select from the drop down list one of the Zoom functions available.
Kiosk Properties
- Description - Displays/Enter the name of the Custom Kiosk.
- Width/Height - Set to match the screen size (in pixels). The most common size are:
- For Landscape mode - 1920 x 1080
- For Portrait mode - 1080 x 1920.
- Background Colour - Select Set to set the colour of the background.
- Background Image - Select to open the Images screen and select an image for the background. It is recommended that images are already sized to match the screen size.

- Grid Size - Displays/Set the grid size (in pixels). Adjusting the grid size will affect how items are moved/sized in the design.
- Snap to Grid - Select to ensure items are automatically aligned with the grid.
- Zoom - Set to zoom In/Out of the design. For example, when designing for a Custom Kiosk that is to be displayed on a screen that is twice the resolution of the screen the Custom Kiosk is being designed on, then there may be a need to zoom in and out to view a particular detail.
- Link on scan - Select to open the Custom Kiosk search screen to select the Custom Kiosk which will be displayed when a Member scans their card.
- Filter Locations - Select to open the Locations screen to select the Locations in which the Custom Kiosk can be used.
Items Properties
- Item Text - Displays/Enter the text to be displayed. When both text and an image is to be displayed, the text will be displayed over the image.
- Item Image - Select the button to open the Images screen to select an image (BMP, GIF, JPG or PNG) file.
- Back Colour - Select to open the colour popup and select a background colour.
- Text Colour - Select to open the colour popup and select a font colour.
- Font - Select to open the Font popup and select a font type/style and size.
- Text Alignment - Select to from the drop down and select the appropriate positioning of the text within Item.
- Text Direction - Select from the drop down list the appropriate direction of the text.
- Wrap Text - Select to ensure the text is wrapped.
- Lock Size and Position - Select to ensure the selected item cannot be moved or resized.
- Move/Size Arrows - Select the arrows to either move/resize the selected item either up/down or left/right.
- Link on Click - Select the open the Custom Kiosk search screen to select a Custom Kiosk that will be displayed when the selected item is selected.
- Slide Show Properties - Select to open the Slide Show Properties screen to select a Custom Kiosk Slide Show created here.
Footer
- New - Select to add a new Custom Kiosk.
- Open - Select to open the Custom Kiosk search screen to select one to edit.
- Save - Select to save changes.
- Close - Select to exit.
Configuring for Operation
The following outlines the steps required to ensure the display of an Custom Kiosk:
- Ensure the SwiftPOS Touch Reception terminal software is installed.
- Design and create a Custom Kiosk using the above screen.
- Launch the SwiftPOS Touch Reception terminal software by running C:\SwiftPOSTouch\SwiftPOS.Reception.exe file.
- Ensure a Full Update is sent to the Reception terminal.
- Ensure the General Settings of the SwiftPOS Touch Reception terminal is configured so that the required Custom Kiosk is selected.
- In the same settings screen, also ensure the Custom Kiosk display is set to display on a monitor other than the Reception display.
- In the Custom Settings of the SwiftPOS Touch Reception terminal, ensure the Custom Kiosk created/designed in step 2 above is selected.
- Restart the SwiftPOS Touch Reception terminal.
- The Custom Kiosk should now be displayed. From the Kiosk display:
- Type S and press the Enter key, and then enter the admin as the password to access the Options/Settings screens of the SwiftPOS Touch Reception terminal. The password can be changed here.
- Type X and press the Enter key to exit the SwiftPOS Touch Reception terminal software.
