Member Birthday Voucher

 

The following is a setup example of a Voucher, Discount and a Reception Terminal for issuing Birthday  Vouchers to Customer/Members that have their birthday in the current month when they swipe their membership card at reception.

 

The Scenario

 

When a Customer/Member swipes their membership card at reception and their birthday falls in the current month they will be issued with a 20% discount  Voucher.

 

The Setup Required

 

  1. Ensure a RF Reader has been setup at the Reception Terminal to enable the swiping of membership cards.
  2. Ensure a  Voucher Printer has been setup at the Reception Terminal for the issuing of the Birthday  Voucher.
  3. Ensure a Barcode scanner has been setup at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal to enable the scanning of the Barcode on redemption of the Birthday  Voucher.
  4. Create a  Voucher Layout for the Award  Voucher that the Customer/Member is required to present at the checkout.

 

  1. Create the Discount.

Note : The dates and times above are overruled by those selected in the Voucher Parameters below.


  1. Create  Voucher Parameters to control the issuing and redemption of the above Voucher.

 

Note : The Issue Type above is set to disabled, as the printing of the  Voucher will be triggered by the Reception Terminal.

The Start In 0 Days value will ensure the issued  Voucher can be redeemed on the same day it was issued or on any day within the next 30 days.

The  Voucher can only be redeemed once and only by the Customer/Member it was issued to.
Note :  Birthday Voucher can NOT be issued via the API.

 

  1. Assign the discount created above as an action to the Voucher.


  1. Send a Full Update to both the Reception Terminal and the SwiftPOS Touch terminal.
  2. At the Reception terminal, in Options select Validation and ensure the following:
    1. The Birthday Check box is checked.
    2. Click the  Voucher button and select the Voucher created above.
    3. From the drop down Validity list select the most appropriate. In this example 'Month of' is selected. This means that the Birthday Check will be triggered when the Customer/Member swipes their membership card on any day in the month of their birthday.

 

Operation

 

  1. A Customer/Member makes a purchase/purchases to the value of $50 or more. They are automatically entered into a draw (with 1 in 10 odds) to win a loyalty Voucher awarded them 50 points.
  2. Voucher randomly issued.
  3. On next visit by the Customer/Member the Voucher is presented and scanned. The Customer/Member is awarded their 50 Loyalty Points.
