Terminal Records

This menu item is used to configure/manage SwiftPOS Touch terminals in use throughout all Locations.

Note : The number of active Terminals cannot exceed the number currently covered by the SwiftPOS Registration licence.

Terminals to be used as SwiftPOS Touch terminals will need to be added to those listed in Terminals Records, as well as to those listed in the Touch POS Terminals.
SwiftPOS Touch Terminals created and flagged as Active can be selected when using the Back Office Invoicing feature. However, a Terminal can also be created just for Back Office Invoicing, in which case it will NOT need to be added to the list of Touch POS Terminals.
Training Terminal - The Terminal IDs 999901 - 999999 are reserved for Training Use Only and will not be considered as one of the Licensed Terminals covered by the SwiftPOS Registration. It will also not record sales. Training Terminals are provided at no extra Licensing cost and are designed to configure and test keyboard layouts in SwiftPOS Back Office prior to activating them across active SwiftPOS Touch terminals.

The filters at the top of the screen can be used to limit the number of rows displayed in the grid. The filters include the following types:

Active - Displays the number of Terminals currently marked as Active.
Licences - Displays the total number of POS Terminal licences available. This total is calculated as follows:

Total Licences = POS Terminals + PC Users (Note : Each PC User Licence issued includes 1 POS Terminal Licence to facilitate Back Office Invoicing)

ID - Displays/Enter the number identifying the Terminal. Once a Terminal has been created its ID cannot be changed.
Active - Select to render the selected Terminal active/inactive. Note : The number of active Terminals cannot exceed the number currently covered by the SwiftPOS Registration licence. A TouchMini type terminal will NOT consume a Terminal Licence in Registration.
Terminal - Displays/Enter the name of the Terminal. Note : The name entered here will NOT be changed in Venue Manager for TouchMini Devices.
Type - Select from the drop down list one of the following Terminal Types:

Touch - Used for SwiftPOS Touch terminals.
Touch Lite - Used for Touch POS terminals that do not require a connection to the Table Tracking database. Note : When Invoked the following features/settings are NOT available:

Mobile - Used for Mobile devices such as IPAD, Iphone, IPod, PDA, tablets, or Widefly devices that run a different style of keyboards.
Menu Board - Used for Menu Boards.
Reception - Used for Reception Terminals.
Waiter - Used for Waiter mode of operation in Restaurants.
KVS Basic - Kitchen Video System.
KVS Pro - Kitchen Video System Pro. Note : A KVS Pro licence is required.
Web Apps - Web Applications.
TouchMini - Used for TouchMini devices. Note : An entry will automatically be added when a TouchMini device is enabled.

Location - Select from the drop down list the Location the selected Terminal is in. Note : Changes made will be logged and can be viewed by generating the Database Activity Report (ADM002). Also, it is recommended to do Z Read at the SwiftPOS Touch Terminal BEFORE changing Locations as the Report data will be lost once the Location has been changed.
Location Group - Displays the Location Group (Venue) associated with the selected Location.
Last Transaction - Displays the Date/Time of the last time a transaction was completed at the selected Terminal.
Last Reset - Displays the Date/Time of the last Reset completed at the selected Terminal.
Zone - Displays/Enter the number of the security camera that is monitoring the selected Terminal. This enables security (DVR) surveillance to be directly accessed from the Search Transactions screen. For information relating to setting up a security (DVR) surveillance camera, click here.
Zone Host - Displays/Enter the Host IP address of the security camera that is monitoring the selected Terminal.

New - Select to add a Terminal. Refer to How To Add A Terminal for more information.
Save - Select to save changes.
Undo - Select to undo changes made.
Delete - Select to delete the selected Terminal. Refer to How To Delete A Terminal for more information.
Close - Select to exit.

Help
