Discounts can be applied to either the one of the following:

  1. Individual sales items

    1. At the SwiftPOS Touch terminal, sell a Product.

  1. Subtotals (Sale Discount)

  1. At the SwiftPOS Touch terminal, sell multiple Products.

Note :

  1. Any rounding resulting from the Sale Discount will be applied to the last item in the sales grid.
  2. To always enforce a discount to be a sale discount (that is, a discount applied to all the items in the sale), then make use of the Multi Link (Macro) POS Key and add the Subtotal and Discount POS Keys as links to the Multi Link (Macro) POS Key.

  1. Select a Reason if required.

Discount

This screen is accessed from here.

  • Sell Price Minus - Select to specify a percentage value to calculate the discounted price. This will then result in the discount price being calculated using the following formulae: Discounted Price = Sell Price - (Sell Price x Sell Price Minus %)

  • GP% - Select to specify a percentage value for the Gross Profit. This will then result in the discounted price being calculated using the following formulae: Discounted Price = Sell Price - ((Cost Price / 1 - GP%) + GST)

  • OK - Select to exit and apply the calculation.

  • Cancel - Select to exit and not apply the calculation.

Examples of Calculated Discounts

  1. Discount based on the Selling Price Minus %

The formulae used to calculate the discounted price is : Sell Price - (Sell Price x Sell Price Minus %)

In this example the discounted price is calculated as follows:

Discount Price = $9.00 - ($9.00 x 20%)

Note : Set the caption to ensure the discount selected is displayed on the POS Key as well as the receipt.

  1. Discount based on a GP%

The formulae used to calculate the discounted price is : Sell Price - ((Cost Price / 1 - GP%) + GST)

In this example the discounted price is calculated as follows:

Discounted Price = $9.00 - (($2.90 / 1 - 20%) + 10%)

Note : Set the caption to ensure the discount selected is displayed on the POS Key as well as the receipt.
