Description

This document provides an overview of the settings related to Graphical Printing. There are a number of peripherals that have the ability to make use of the Graphical Printing option. The settings outlined in this document are only available when the Graphical Printing option has been selected against the Peripheral (Printer) at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal.

There are two methods of printing:

  1. Non Graphical - Esc/POS Printing - The oldest and most common method, ESC/POS printing method makes use of a series of Esc Codes to tell the printer what to do on each line. It also means that Logos have to be loaded  to load logo's up into the VRAM in each Printer and the Logo called each time it needs to be printed.
  2. Graphical Printing - Widely used when printing on standard office Printers. Headers and Footers are designed visually by selecting font sizes and including graphics which can be updated very easily at any time.

To Be Considered

  1. Sites with more than one SwiftPOS Touch terminal should configure their printers in the SwiftPOS Back Office here.

Pre-Requisites

  1. Note : Requires USB or Ethernet Printers - We do not recommend RS232 because they are too slow.

Headers/Footers (Graphical Printing)

Headers/Footers can be added/edited by selecting either the Edit Header/Footer or Receipt Messages button when editing Peripherals via the Terminal Settings. Headers/Footers can also be added/edited via Peripherals in SwiftPOS Back Office. Doing it in the SwiftPOS Back Office negates the need to have to do it at each SwiftPOS Touch terminal. Useful for sites that have multiple SwiftPOS Touch terminals.
