KVS Installation

 

Description

 

This document provides a complete guide for installing the SwiftPOS KVS (Kitchen Video System) software. The guide is broken up into sections for each application, and must be followed in the order that they appear.

 

To Be Considered

 

  1. Windows 7 / 8 / 10 Installations - Please ensure you right click the Setup.exe and select “Run as Administrator” to ensure the installer has complete access to the system during installation. Failing that, you may need to turn off UAC reboot then install and if required turn UAC back on again when the installation is finished.

 

Pre-Requisites

 

  1. Hardware Requirements - The minimum screen resolution is 1024 x 768 px.
  2. Microsoft .NET Framework - This only needs to be installed if not previously installed. To download it click here.
  3. Install SwiftPOS Touch.
  4. The KVS will need to be added as a Peripheral at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal that has been assigned as the Table tracking Master terminal.

 

Installation Checklist

 

The following checklist should be used to ensure a trouble free installation of SwiftPOS KVS.

 

Follow the steps in the order outlined below:

 

  1. Ensure the Pre-Requisites above have been met.
  2. Installation Guide
  3. Getting Started.
  4. Basic Configuration.

 

Installation Guide

 

Follow the steps in the order outlined below:

 

  1. Install SwiftPOS KVS on the Table tracking Master terminal.
     
  1. Reseller Help - For downloading installer software information. Installers are available for the following:

    • SwiftPOS Touch
    • SwiftPOS Back Office
    • SwiftPOS Menu Board
    • SwiftPOS Kitchen Video System


  1. Unzip the downloaded SPKVS zip file and double click the .exe installer file. For example: SwiftPOS KVS Installer v5.exe.
  2. The install of SwiftPOS KVS will commence with the following popup appearing:
     


  1. Follow the prompts of the Install Wizard to complete the installation of SwiftPOS KVS.
     


  1. Once the Install Wizard has completed, click Finish to exit the Wizard.
  2. The folders, application and settings files installed are located as per the table below. Note : SwiftPOS KVS makes use of the SwiftPOS Table Tracking database.

 

GETTING STARTED

 

  1. Launch the SwiftPOS KVS application. This topic is now available in the SwiftPOS Knowledge Base HERE.

Files & Folders

 

SwiftPOS Folder

C:\SwiftPOSKVS

This folder is located on the Table tracking Master SwiftPOS Touch terminal and holds the application and settings files.

Settings and Configuration Files

KVSSettings.xml

KVS Settings for each KVS installed.  All KVS settings are stored in the table tracking database.

KVSPeripherals.xml

KVS Peripheral Configuration (eg. Bump Printers).

SwiftPOS.Kitchen.Video.exe

SwiftPOS KVS Application

Database File

TableTracking.mdf

SwiftPOS Table Tracking Database.
