Set Float from Media Declaration Operation

 

Touch > Float In (#540) POS Key

 

Description

 

This feature enables the Float for a Cash Drawer to be set to the previous Media (Cash) Declaration. This feature was originally designed specifically for Fuel (module) enabled sites.

 


Pre-Requisites

 

  1. Ensure the Media Declaration at POS when resetting reports and Set Float from Media Declaration options are selected in the Report Settings screen at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal.
  2. Ensure the Enable Consolidated X and Z reporting and Shift Reporting options are selected in the Table Tracking Main Settings tab in the Table Tracking screen at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal.
  3. Ensure the Function Float In and the Recall Declaration POS Keys are added to the appropriate Layout using the Keyboard Designer.

 


Operation

 

  1. Start of First Shift

 

  1. At the SwiftPOS Touch terminal declare the Float at the start of the first shift by selecting Float In (#540) POS Key and enter the value.
  2. Commence normal operation at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal. Make sales, etc.
  3. When and if required, do Cash Drops by selecting the Cash Drop POS Key.
  4. At the end of the shift run a Shift Report (Z Report).
  5. Declare the Media (Cash) in the Drawer by selecting the Recall Declaration POS Key. Provide a reason for any Variances between Expected and Actual Cash Drawer balances. The Media declaration will be sent to the SwiftPOS Back Office from where it can be Cashed Off at a later time.


  1. Start of Next Shift

 

  1. The next shift commences with a starting Float value set to the value of the Media Declaration in the previous shift. The value of the Float can be seen by with either selecting the Float In (#540) POS Key or previewing the Shift Report.
  2. Commence normal operation at the SwiftPOS Touch terminal. Make sales, etc.
  3. When and if required, do Cash Drops by selecting the Cash Drop POS Key.
  4. At the end of the shift run a Shift Report (Z Report).
  5. Declare the Media (Cash) in the Drawer by selecting the Recall Declaration POS Key. Provide a reason for any Variances between Expected and Actual Cash Drawer balances. The Media declaration will be sent to the SwiftPOS Back Office from where it can be Cashed Off at a later time.
  6. The next shift will now commence with a starting Float equivalent to that of the Actual value of the Cash Drawer declared in the step above.
