Booking Name Operation

 

Touch > Booking Name / Tent # (#39) POS Key

 

Description

 

Used to assign a sale to a Customer/Seat Number/Table Number/Pager Number/Tent Number/etc. Commonly used in Cafe/Bistro style Businesses.

 

To Be Considered

 

  1. If required, restricting access to this POS Key can be managed by Clerk Security.
  2. If you want to set the Default Order Type to "Take-Away" and have the Booking Name change the default to "Eat In" then just create a Multi Link (Macro) POS Key with the Booking Name and and Eat In Order Type POS Keys.

 

Pre-Requisites

 

  1. Ensure the Function Booking Name / Tent # POS Key is added to the appropriate Layout using the Keyboard Designer.

 

Operation

 

  1. How to assign a Booking Name to a sale
  1. Sell Products.
  2. Select the Booking Name / Tent # POS Key.
  3. Depending on the POS Key settings selected, either a numeric or alpha-numeric keypad pop-up will be displayed for the entry of either the Booking Name or Tent Number. Note : A maximum of 11 numeric digits can be entered as a Tent #. For example, a mobile phone number.
  4. Enter the appropriate Name/Number to which the sale is to be assigned and the select Done. This can be either the name of the Customer, a pager number, a seat number, a table flag/stand number, a tent number, etc.
     


  1. Finalise the sale.
  2. The Booking Name entered above will now appear on the all printed dockets (Receipts/Bar/Barista/Kitchen dockets) that have the Print Field {BOOKING NAME} included in the Receipt/Kitchen Printer Header/Footer.

 

Example of using Table Tents and asking the customers where they are going to be sitting

 

 

Add 3 x ???Order Type??? POS Keys set up for;

 

  • Inside
  • Outside
  • Booth

 

They are all pointing to the ???Eat In??? Printer.

Use the Booking Name to record the Table Tent Number.

If you want to set the Default Order Type to "Take-Away" and have the Booking Name change the default to "Booth/Inside/Outside" then create a Multi Link (Macro) POS Key with the Booking Name and Order Type (changed to match) POS Keys.

 

Booking Name / Tent # POS Key Settings

 

Description

 

Used to either display a numeric or alpha-numeric keypad for the entry of either Customer name, pager number, seat number, table flag/stand number, tent number, etc.
 

 

This screen is accessed from here.

 

  • Mandatory - Select to ensure that entry of a Booking Name / Tent # is mandatory. Selecting this option will ensure the Cancel/Esc Key is disabled.
  • Numeric Only - Select to display either a numeric pop-up keypad to cater for the entering of Table Tent numbers. Leave unselected (to display an alpha-numeric pop-up keypad) for the entry of Booking Names.
  • Custom Title - Enter a Custom Title to be displayed at the top of the Popup Keyboard.
