Touch > Function Live Scale Price Enquiry (#537) POS Key

Description

Used to add weight to a scale until it reaches a specific value. For example, $5.00 worth of Salami.

To Be Considered

1. If required, restricting access to this POS Key can be managed by Clerk Security.

Pre-Requisites

1. Ensure the Function Live Scale Price Enquiry POS Key is added to the appropriate Layout using the Keyboard Designer.

Operation

If a scale device has been configured it works as follows.

The Scale PLU's are setup as belonging to a fractional Category in the SwiftPOS Back Office.

Adding a Scale PLU to a sale triggers the scale to read and return the weight (as Quantity) for the PLU.

A Quantity may also be entered prior to the PLU to indicate a pre-packaged Product.

Open Priced Scale Items

Whatever weight is on the scale will be used and it will prompt you for a price per kg E.g. if you have 0.2kg on the scale and you enter $1.00 when prompted, it will sell for 20 cents. If you make it non fractional, then it will just ask for the value to sell it at (exact price) Just make sure you press the Product key first, or you will override the scale weight.
